Walking around the booths at Denim by Premiere Vision in Paris, we saw this beautiful portrait of McQueen from the 1970 movie “Le Mans” on the side wall of an exhibitor’s booth (Montebello Denim). He belonged to a generation of hard boiled characters that defined the meaning of ‘cool’. He was one of the first to change the perception of blue jeans from a worker’s outfit to a style statement. McQueen has influenced generations of young people. The pictures of him riding in the Mojave bear chest wearing his jeans are still amongst the most iconic denim images ever. (source: kodezero)
