Q: What’s your favorite brand of jeans? Why?
A: I took a liking to Levi’s 501 jeans mainly because of the fit.
Q: Is it comfortable to bike in jeans?
A: That mainly depends on the fit, anything too baggy or loose becomes a challenge. I find a slim straight fit to the best because they’re slim enough to not get in the way, but loose enough to not cause any resistance while pedaling. There’s nothing better then riding in shorts though.
Q: Are there better types of jeans for biking?
A: Anything with a slim straight fit works for me, but, if you want to be hip, I’m sure there are cycling specific jeans for those who’d want them.
Q: How often do you bike with jeans?
A: All throughout winter I bike in jeans with the exception of the days I choose to wear khakis or bicycle specific pants for when I’m strictly cycling and not commuting.
Q: How many pair of jeans have you destroyed while biking?
A: As much as I ride my bike, I’ve surprisingly only destroyed two pairs of jeans. My friends have managed to run through a couple more pairs of jeans then myself even though they don’t ride as much as me.
Q: Do you wear your favorite pair more than others? If so why?
A: Of course, because they’re my favorite pair! They fit good for riding and walking, and look good at the same time.
Q: Why are your jeans rolled up?
A: They’re rolled up so my jeans don’t get caught in my crank or rub up against my downtube. If you’re jeans get caught in the crank you’ve essentially turned your jeans into bell bottoms… I’ve destroyed two pairs like this.
Q: Do you have a funny memory of biking while wearing jeans?
A: I’ve definitely fell more then once trying to hop on my bike with a pair of jeans just because they don’t stretch as much as cycling specific pants. Any memory of destroying your jeans is guaranteed to ensure laughter because you arrive to your destination with bell bottoms or the crotch area of your jeans ripped open… Just hope you weren’t wearing any tightey whiteys!
